WORLD BOOK DAY 2025

Warren celebrated World Book Day Today
On Thursday 6th March, the whole school celebrated World Book Day. Children were invited to dress up as their favourite book character and they enjoyed taking part in lots of book-based activities.
Several year groups ‘buddied up’ to read in pairs, with the older children reading so eloquently to the younger children, bringing their favourite stories to life. Foundation Stage and KS1 enjoyed hot seating their favourite book characters, reading their favourite stories, designing book covers and writing a collaborative class story.
Year 3 and Year 5 pupils had lots of fun during their visit to Waterstones bookstore in Lakeside and experienced the pleasure of being surrounded by books for the whole morning/afternoon. Waterstones staff read to the children, and they had the chance to browse the store and purchase a new book with their WBD voucher.
Year 6 had the opportunity to participate in some book-themed baking and thoroughly enjoyed tasting the results.
All the children and staff had a thoroughly enjoyable day, immersing themselves in an array of wonderful literature, as well as taking part in lots of book-based activities.
The School Office Staff dressed as characters from Julia Donaldson’s Room on the Broom Stories.
Year four staff chose Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.
