Internet Safety Day
On the 6th February, we celebrated Internet Safety Day 2024. Our pupils explored various aspects of staying safe online, tailored to their respective age groups.
In the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), our little ones got to know Pip the Penguin, who taught them essential tips and tricks for safe internet use. They had a wonderful time learning through interactive activities that emphasized the importance of online safety.
For Key Stage 2 (KS2), we had the privilege of a live lesson from the BBC on the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how to navigate this exciting technological landscape safely. It was an engaging session, well-received by our students. Pupils also let their creative side run wild, creating posters to promote safe online behaviour and letting others know what to do if they find anything they find uncomfortable online.
Year 6 had an empowering visit from Essex Police, who enlightened them on the responsibilities of being good online citizens. They learned about the do's and don'ts of the digital world, equipping them with the knowledge and awareness needed to make responsible choices online.
Internet Safety Day was not only a day of learning but also a reminder of the collective effort needed to ensure our students are well-prepared for the challenges of the online realm. We will continue to educate and empower our pupils to be responsible and safe digital citizens.
